Uusinta Ensemble presents new pieces by Nordic Composers it has co-commissioned within the Nordlyd project, supported by Kulturkontakt and Nordisk Kulturfond. The pieces were premiered by Uusinta Ensemble in 14th of June 2016 at the Klang festival, Copenhagen.
Danish Mette Nielsen has recorded the harbor sound landscape of her childhood city Odense and integrated childhood song memories of the members of Uusinta Ensemble into her new piece. Icelandic Hafdís Bjarnadóttir takes us into the world of meteorological data and weather field recordings. In a very personal work by Swedish Ida Lundén we will hear the breathing of her late father and also the inner sounds of his harmonium. Ville Raasakka's piece has insomnia and the sounds of a night time apartment as its themes.
